== Origin & Founding ==

Furality was conceived in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when global lockdowns had cancelled in-person furry conventions worldwide. The idea was published on '''March 28, 2020''' through a Telegram channel by its founder, '''Daltyn''' — a VRChat user who had himself joined the furry fandom through the platform. Daltyn and a small group of friends set out to create a VRChat-based convention as a way to bring the furry community together virtually.

The concept was initially proposed as a '''"convention that never ends"''' — the idea being that, since VRChat worlds remain online after any event concludes, the convention's spaces would persist indefinitely. This philosophy of permanent accessibility has remained a part of Furality's identity: convention worlds are typically reuploaded as public worlds after each event concludes.

The first event, held '''May 22–24, 2020''', was intentionally small-scale — a test. It far exceeded expectations. What was hoped to be a modest proof of concept drew '''2,692 attendees''' and raised '''$8,646.93''' for SaveAFox Rescue. The result confirmed that a large-scale VR furry convention was not only viable — it was in demand.

In '''July 2020''', Furality, Inc. was formally incorporated in Florida as a nonprofit corporation to provide institutional structure for all future events.
